With rye bread, oatmeal and Supreme Minerals you can easily make small, delicious biscuits that cover your horse's daily needs for vitamins and minerals - and with ingredients that many horses eat with great pleasure.
The recipe here is suitable for a 100 kg horse – so you can simply multiply by your own horse's weight.
You will need:
- 17 g Supreme Minerals
- ¼ cup oatmeal
- ½ slice of rye bread
- About 1 teaspoon water or unsweetened applesauce
- A little grated carrot or apple dice (Optional)
How to do it:
- Crumble the rye bread in a bowl.
- Add oatmeal and Supreme Minerals and stir well.
- Add a little liquid – the mixture should be firm and malleable.
- For example, roll up to 3–5 small balls or small bounty bars – and voila: your own homemade vitamin biscuits!
- Bake them at 120°C hot air for 30–40 minutes until completely dry.
- Cool and store dry in a tightly sealed container.
Tip:
Feel free to make several days at a time and store in a cookie tin.
Daily dosage:
- 300 kg = 3 × recipe
- 400 kg = 4 × recipe
- 500 kg = 5 × recipe
- 600 kg = 6 × recipe
Bonus: you know exactly what's in it.
Please share your experiences – and tell us if your horse thinks Supreme Minerals tastes even better as small biscuits.
