Omega-3 is a fatty acid your horse can't produce itself, and it is often lacking when the horse is fed hay or haylage instead of fresh grass. The algae oil closes that gap.
Maintenance: 2.5 ml per 100 kg of horse per day, 5 ml if you want to give extra. So a 500 kg horse gets 12.5 to 25 ml.
If you feed Peak Performance, it already contains RC O3 Algeolie, so you normally don't need to give more.

If you feed haylage or hay, some of the omega-3 has been lost along the way, and if your horse also gets hard feed with a lot of grain or seed oils high in omega-6, an imbalance between the two can easily arise.
What you get in RC O3 Algeolie
The oil contains 69 per cent omega-3, including 581 mg EPA and DHA per gram. EPA and DHA are the forms your horse can use directly, without first having to convert them itself.
What time of year should you start?
Eczema: start in mid-January, before midge season gets going. The effect needs to be in place before the challenge arrives.
Allergies, competition and breeding: start 12‑16 weeks before the season or covering.

How the three supplements work together with the oil
Every Day Happy contains only a little omega-3, and it comes from linseed. Supreme Minerals contains no omega-3. If your horse needs more, give RC O3 Algeolie alongside it.
Peak Performance already contains RC O3 Algeolie. Extra is not normally needed here, unless your horse is going through a period of eczema, allergy or high workload.
