In Every Day Happy and +Energy Fiber Mash products, whole flaxseed makes up 20% and 40% of the formulation, respectively. We chose flaxseed for its healthy fiber, immune-regulating properties, and stable Omega 3.
The healthy fibers, protein and fatty acids
The essential Omega 3 fatty acids are just one of the reasons why flaxseed is a good ingredient in horse feed. Flaxseed also contains a number of good fibers, protein, other fatty acids and immune-regulating secondary substances that are of great benefit to our horses.
Flaxseed has approximately 28% fiber, of which 2/3 are insoluble fiber (polysaccharides, cellulose, etc.) corresponding to most fibers in grass and bran. . The insoluble fiber ensures flow in the intestine and prevents constipation when the horse both drinks and consumes enough salt. The last third of the fiber in flaxseed is water-soluble and fermentable for intestinal bacteria. The fiber also contributes to the mucin/mucus fraction, a liquid secretion found in saliva, which covers and protects the mucous membranes in both the intestine and stomach. The fiber thus functions as a buffer against acid in the horse's stomach, helps regulate blood sugar and provides a feeling of satiety.
To ensure the horse has the best opportunity to absorb the nutrients in the flax seeds, the seeds are lightly crushed during processing before the product is pressed into feed pellets.
Stable Omega 3
The Omega 3 fatty acids, Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) in ground flaxseeds, are, based on several research results, documented to be stable for up to 10 months. The oils in flaxseeds are protected by both the proteins, the mucilage, the seeds' own antioxidants, and the antioxidants in RC HerbalFfusion #1. This is also why we have a high amount of herbs in both Every Day Happy and +Energy Fiber Mash.
All feed products should be stored dry, out of direct sunlight, and at a maximum temperature of 22℃ for optimal shelf life. Regulator Complete bags are multi-layered and designed to increase the shelf life of the products.
Regulator Complete produces frequently and in small production quantities to ensure our customers fresh products with the longest possible shelf life.
Laboratory tested, documented no hydrocyanic acid
The flax seeds in Every Day Happy and +Energy Fiber Mash are lightly crushed and heated in the processing process, including in the pellet press. They therefore do not form hydrocyanic acid/cyanogenic glycosides. This is continuously checked by analyses carried out by Eurofin Stein's laboratories. Both products can therefore be served soaked in water.
